US-headquartered bank Citi has appointed Indran Thana as its managing director and Asean head of real estate, investment banking, effective in June.
Based in Singapore, Thana will report to Matthew Nimtz, head of Asean, investment banking, with a matrix reporting line to Ben Connolly, Asia head of real estate, investment banking, and co-head of capital markets and advisory for Australia and New Zealand.
Thana joins the bank from UBS, where he was managing director and head of real estate, lodging and leisure, for Asia. Since 2010 he built and led high-performing teams at UBS, establishing the firm as a top three regional franchise and developed strong relationships with major real estate groups across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Prior to UBS, Thana gained extensive experience at DBS Bank, Maybank Investment Bank and Amanah Capital. His expertise covers the full spectrum of real estate investment banking, with notable experience in digital infrastructure.
This appointment, the bank says, significantly strengthens its Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( Asean ) region real estate franchise and reinforces its commitment to delivering best-in-class advisory and execution capabilities in this dynamic market.
“Thana’s deep client relationships, proven track record and comprehensive expertise across traditional and emerging real estate sectors,” the bank adds, “will position us to capture greater market share and deepen partnerships with key institutional and corporate clients throughout Southeast Asia.”
