Shanghai-based Wison New Energies has signed a front-end engineering and design ( FEED ) contract for a floating liquefied natural gas and power barge project with Ace Gas & FLNG, which is planned to be deployed in Nigeria.
Wison New Energies completed the pre-FEED in early 2024. The project aims to develop an FLNG with a production capacity of approximately 3 million tonnes per annum, planned to be moored about 10 kilometres offshore in waters with a depth of about 20 metres, receiving and processing up to 500 million standard cubic feet per day.
In addition, a stream of natural gas will be delivered from the FLNG to the 230-megawatt power barge for power generation and supply of electricity to Ace Gas & LNG-operated gas assets and gas processing facilities within the Escravos and Forcados hub.
The Escravos River, a distributary of the Niger River, is a 56-kilometre westerly watercourse which enters the Gulf of Guinea. It is linked by several interconnected waterways to the Forcados, Warri, Benin, and Ethiope rivers.
